Test-ED 2012 - Pleasant experience!
First
of all i was very happy that i had worth and more value than what i paid for in
getting to the Test-ED 2012... More over i am very proud that i could able to
bring 2 friends of mine who were in also intrested in attending this grand event for testers by the testers...
Kudoos ragav!!!!
Now to the experience of the ride....
It was 2:30AM 5th Dec 2012 Wednesday, my alarm rang when i
was in the train sleeping dead tired ;-) Snoozed three times by when i reached KR Puram (Bengaluru).. it was 4:00
AM about 2yrs since i have been to B'lore.... I and my friend from chennai, some managed to get a couple of cab and
reached my other friend's room who was also join us for Test - ED... We took an auto and reached the MLR convention
centre.. We were on time...
With a welcome hug from Pradeep (My thala), Entering into the auditorium with a great ambiance was
giving me a great thrill with the BG music... I was excited about that i am going to go through renowned speakers...
To start with James talk on the rising of thinking indian tester, WoW what a
start... I felt very ignorant of not knowing the fact that history of india has lot of things
that can be referred to testing... I was very proud when person like James referred thirukural ( I love thirukural
)... Especially the one below
638. 'Tis duty of the man in place aloud to say
The very truth, though unwise king may cast his words away.
In Tamil:
அறிகொன்று
அறியான் எனினும் உறுதி
உழையிருந்தான்
கூறல் கடன்.
Meaning:
Although the king be utterly ignorant, it is the duty of the
minister to give (him) sound advice.
Oh man, Now i realize that there are lot of things in
thirukural (Also in indian history) to testing.. This talk really made me to feel proud that i am not just a tester I am in Indian Tester... Jai
hindh!
Then followed with Rahul... This was first time am hearing
him.. I liked his way of approach towards testing and the message that he conveyed was a good take away...
Thanks for the organizers for a good lunch and the dessert..
I was doubting how could a meet like this with Lunch can be this much economical... :-) Thanks Moolya..
Brainuiz... Post lunch... Was a good idea to keep the people
engaged.. I was actually asking me a question myself Do i know testing? Actually i was not, atleast based on the
answer that i could find out.. I think every tester has to ask him self frequently how experieced he is inorder to keep
him updated in this field..
Next ride was my thala (Pradeep) A complex title.. and a
very different way of presentation with Background music (It was like watching a movie)..Yet again clean neat execution from my thala... That's my
thala's Kungfu panda style... I was inspired
Following by Justin short and sweetest show.. Even though
the session was quite short i had a lot of take away's from his speech... Man! what a lot of information and
knowledge he has.. I would for sure improvise my way of test design in furture using the pair wise testing...
Thanks to manoj it was great to have a developer in a
testing conference.. even though the session was a bit dry for me (May be its development concepts which i might lack
knowledge) but the information was a good take away.. Continuous deployment...
And the final session.. I apology that i could not
recogonize name of him (@ Moolya can you help me out here plz), He was just great… The way he spoke abt
mahabharath with gaurav and pandava’s with software testing.. what a way to
relate the tradition with software testing.. I just admired his way of
presenting..
It was great to see all in one stage during questions
session.. This was just great…
On total Test-ED-2012 was just awesome start.. Hope to be part of Test-Ed 2013…. Thanks to Organizers and speakers and all the
testers who participated….
On top of this experience I could be around with some of my
old pals in Blore.. who I have met 2-3 years back… We had a good meet up and
dine.. (This was a bonus which I got) :-)
What a way to end year 2012…. Great !!!
Nice one Raga.. Keep posting..
